Job Description Job Summary \n $20,000 sign on bonus for eligible applicants Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for the use of radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. MRI technologists performs magnetic resonance imaging and acquire and analyzes data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Magnetic resonance technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of magnetic resonance imaging procedures. Magnetic resonance technologists prepare, administer and document activities related to medications in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy. \n Job Duties \n \n \n Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality. \n Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable). \n Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. \n Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable. \n Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers. \n Applying principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others. \n Assisting the licensed practitioner with magnetic resonance interventional procedures. \n Performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. \n Selecting appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters. \n Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities. \n Fully proficient in all assigned routine and complex job duties. \n Participates in modality quality or process improvement activities. \n \n \n Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Collaboration, professionalism, and adaptability are essential to ensuring safe, efficient procedural flow and optimal patient outcomes. \n \n \nResponsibilities \n \n Clinical & Procedural Support \n \n \n Demonstrates complete working knowledge of all equipment used within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. \n Maintains knowledge of sterile supplies and applies proper sterile techniques for all procedures. \n Assists physicians in the scrub role using sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination, including setting up trays and preparing and positioning patients. \n Functions in the circulator role by positioning patients to obtain digital images and administering medications and/or contrast media (if certified) under physician supervision and in accordance with departmental policies. \n Supports physicians in the recorder/monitor role by documenting procedures, balancing calibration, operating physiologic recording equipment, and calculating and reporting patient data gathered during procedures. \n \n Patient Care & Safety \n \n \n Reviews patient charts to verify appropriate information and identify potential risk indicators prior to procedures. \n Maintains the patient holding area and assists with transporting patients safely throughout the department. \n Provides radiation protection for patients, staff, and self by adhering to established safety standards. \n Recognizes emergency situations and initiates appropriate responses, including code activation, first aid, or CPR as needed. \n Prepares and administers medications and contrast media under the supervision of the Cardiologist. \n \n Medication & Equipment Management \n \n \n Maintains controlled drug inventory in compliance with established controlled substance policies. \n Ensures crash carts and drug boxes are fully stocked, properly dated, and ready for emergency use. \n Assists in maintaining inventory levels, ordering supplies, and notifying the coordinator when supplies are low. \n Participates in product evaluation processes to determine the most effective and cost-efficient supplies and equipment. \n \n Documentation & Quality Improvement \n \n \n Maintains daily work logs and participates in patient follow-up activities. \n Actively participates in performance improvement initiatives, including evaluation, reporting, and follow-up on improvement recommendations. \n \n Scheduling & On-Call Responsibilities \n \n \n Participates in on-call rotation to support emergency and after-hours cardiac catheterization procedures. \n \n \n \n Qualifications \n \n \n \n Minimum of one (1) year of Critical Care nursing experience. \n One (1) year of experience working in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. \n Completion of Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) training as part of Department Orientation. \n EPIC preferred \n \n \n \n Credentials \n \n \n \n BLS \n ACLS \n PALS or ability to obtain within 4 weeks of hire \n NIH Certification \n \n \n \n Education \n \n \n \n Graduate of an accredited nursing school \n \n \n \nEntry\n \n \nUSD $38.00/Hr. \n \n \nMax\n \n \nUSD $62.70/Hr.
