Project Manager

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance is required to start Travel Requirements: Negligible Location: Norfolk, VA SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead a multi-discipline team supporting a complex systems engineering effort. This position will oversee all phases of a program focused on developing and fielding a new inertial navigation system, from design and development through full operational capability. Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Serve as the customer advocate for assigned projects taking ownership of assigned customer requirements. Responsible for assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. Develop project plans (identify requirements, scope definition, project schedules utilizing an integrated master schedule, WBS, risk management, etc.). Support the development of cost estimates, quotes, and prepares budgets. Monitor and control project work (scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, etc.) executes, staffs, budgets, and closes out projects. Manage project staff, assigns responsibilities, manages resources, and ensures stakeholder needs are met (especially customers). Prepare and submit performance reports to senior managers (project managers, program managers, company executives) including resource projections and performance forecasts. Aid the negotiation of delivery orders and contractual changes. Support the preparation of related proposals, plans, specifications, and reports. Develop resolutions to project issues and escalates them as appropriate to Program Manager or Program Director. May examine estimates of material, equipment, and production related items, reviews costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
