Job Description Please Find the Job Details below: Job Title: Part time- Psychiatrist Location: Massillon OH 44646 Duration: 6 Months to Long term Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Hours/Week: 20 Hours/Week Job description: Complete psychiatric evaluations to assist in diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. On rare occasion, the psychiatrist may also be called upon to respond to a unit to evaluate a youth who is out of control. Completes intake evaluations on youth who are transferred to the facility to assess medication need and write prescriptions. Respond to referrals by facility staff for evaluation of a mental health disorder. Complete risk assessments per policy and make determinations regarding appropriate precautionary status levels for youths who are displaying suicidal behavior or ideation. Assist in facilitating the transfer of youth for emergency purposes. Notify appropriate staff when youth are placed on medication and when medication is altered or discontinued. Explain to youths the need, benefits, use and side effects of medications and obtain informed consent as per policy. Meet with treated youth on a monthly basis unless otherwise assessed to need an increased or decreased frequency as determined by the psychiatrist or ODYS personnel. Contact parent/Client as to treatment planning and medication usage Provide for consultation and participation with the youth's interdisciplinary team either directly or by utilization of an appropriate method of communication (use of psychiatric nurse, e-mail, written note, etc.) Consult with the facility physician to assure continuity of care and comprehensive medical management of youth Contractor will be required to participate in a review of advanced level providers. Emergency services are to be provided to the facility via consultations with the facility nursing and or psychology staff 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Following a telephone consultation, the provider shall examine the youth and co-sign telephone orders no later than 5 business days after the telephone consultation. Time spent responding to calls is reimbursed at the identified hourly rate. All absences are to be communicated to the Psychology Supervisor or Health Services Administrator as soon as possible. To the extent practicable, coverage for unavailability must be communicated to the facility prior to the absence. Maintenance of health files and client information in a secure and confidential manner consistent with department and facility procedures, as well as guidelines set by the State Board of Medicine and the Ohio Revised Code.
