Role: Product Design Engineer Location: NYC.NY Type : Long Term Contract Pay Range: $80-$90/hr. Product Design Engineer – Wearable Devices Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design mechanical components and assemblies for wearable consumer products Own designs from concept, CAD, prototyping, and testing through mass production Build and evaluate prototypes; iterate designs based on test results Perform design analysis using strong mechanical fundamentals Design for high-volume manufacturing with DFM/DFA and tolerance considerations Collaborate with industrial design, electrical engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers Support design reviews, failure analysis, and continuous product improvements Must-Have Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 3–10 years of experience as a Product Design Engineer in consumer electronics Experience working on high-volume, mass-produced consumer products Background from companies shipping products at scale (e.g., Apple, Tesla, or similar) Strong experience in component design, prototyping, and testing Solid design analysis skills and strong core mechanical fundamentals Nice-to-Have Qualifications Experience with wrist-worn wearable devices (smartwatches, fitness trackers) Experience with small form-factor, highly integrated consumer devices Exposure to durability, environmental, and reliability testing (drop, sweat, IP ratings) The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time, hours of paid vacation time, weeks of paid parental leave, and paid holidays annually – as applicable.
