The Physician Assistant in the Department of Surgery's Pediatric Surgery division functions as an independent healthcare provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients on the Pediatric Surgery Service. Demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in caring for Pediatric Surgery patients with acute and chronic illnesses commonly encountered within surgery, including pre- and post-operative surgical management and post-operative complications. Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, care coordination, and admissions for patients and families with acute and chronic Pediatric Surgery health needs.
