Details\n \n Inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting caring for patients recovering from stroke, orthopedic surgeries, brain injuries, and other debilitating conditions \n Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) \n Patient ratio of 1:6 to 1:7 \n May float to Long-term acute care or other hospital units to manage med-surg patients \n Uses Epic charting system \n Requirements\n \n Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration \n Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required; CPI and NIHSS preferred \n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required \n Previous travel nursing experience required \n Previous charge nurse experience preferred \n LTAC experience preferred \n Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care, and PICC line management \n Experience with feeding tube care and colostomy/ileostomy management \n Experience caring for CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients \n Experience administering Heparin and Insulin \n Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management \n Experience in Med/Surg and MS/Tele settings \n Experience with nasal cannula and tracheostomy care/management \n Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement patients \n Experience with post cardiac surgery patients \n Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care \n Experience managing surgical drains \n Familiar with Rapid Response/Code team protocols \n Additional Information\n \n Provide multidisciplinary rehabilitative nursing care in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and support staff to help patients regain independence and functionality \n Emphasis on family involvement and patient education throughout the recovery process \n Utilizes advanced rehabilitation technologies and evidence-based practices \n Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered \n Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted \n Former staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler \n No travel pairs or groups accepted \n No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation \n \n \n American Traveler Job ID P-746388.
