Custodial Supervisor- Provisional (Custodial Services) SUNY Broome Community College is seeking a full-time, in-person, 12 month, Provisional, Custodial Supervisor (Supervisor) for the Custodial Services department. The Supervisor reports to the Assistant Director for Facilities Management (Custodial Services). This appointment is Provisional, pending satisfactory completion of the Civil Service testing requirement. This position is represented by the ESPA bargaining unit. The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient cleaning and maintenance of office buildings and surrounding grounds. This role combines hands-on custodial work with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring facilities are kept to approved standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Inspect buildings and grounds to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance procedures. Oversee the work of custodial staff and outside contractors. Supervise groundskeeping tasks, including lawn care, shrub and tree maintenance, and snow/ice removal. Maintain and oversee use of equipment such as mowers, trimmers, tractors, and snowblowers. Order, track, and manage supplies and equipment inventory. Keep detailed records and prepare activity and supply reports. Assist in preparing the annual custodial budget. Interview and recommend candidates for custodial positions. Perform set ups and tear downs for various events on campus. Perform custodial and maintenance duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have: Thorough knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment. Working knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures, materials, and safety standards. Skills in operating custodial and groundskeeping tools and equipment (e.g., vacuums, buffers, mowers, snowblowers). Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Strong supervisory and organizational skills. Ability to perform physical duties consistent with job requirements. Requirements: Four (4) years of building cleaning experience. Must be available to work and/or be on call during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship. Additional Information: The hourly rate for this position is $20.73. Fully understands Employment Services and how they are meant to be delivered Research new developments in the area of employment services Accurately and completely explain programs, services, and expected outcomes to potential referrals Participate in training and development activities so new ideas and/or concepts can be implemented into the program(s) Create and assist with marketing plans and strategies Assist Manager in developing program goals and action plans as needed, at least annually Increase enrollment in services, achieving the goals set for the service year Service Delivery: Provide and oversee the delivery of person-centered services that support individuals to achieve their employment goals. Develop resources and curriculum as needed for people and staff to explore employment options Person centered crisis intervention Believe all people are capable of employment and support teams to find the appropriate support for each individual Promotes the highest level of independence for people enrolled in services whenever possible Create and maintain records in accordance with MN DHS licensing as well as MN DEED (as applicable) and CARF Keeps co-Manager and Senior Director informed of needs of the program and significant issues Supervises accident incident reporting as well as vulnerable adult reporting Personnel Management: Supervises staff by clearly identifying roles and responsibilities, enhancing skills, and promoting teamwork. Recruits, interviews and hire staff based on qualifications as specified in the job description Trains and supports staff to be knowledgeable in employment supports and best practices of service delivery Monitors the training and progress of all staff to ensure guidelines are being met and licensing standards are achieved Assures daily coverage and support needs are being met Completes annual performance reflections with staff Provides consistent feedback to staff regularly Facilitates and promotes teamwork Closely monitors billing to assure all services being provided are being billed for, and therefore billing goals are being met Financial Management: Assists in creating and monitors budget so that projects are achieved. Understand all sources of revenue and proper means of collection Support staff to submit 6790s and service authorization requests immediately upon request for services and minimum of 60 days prior to reauthorization of services Reviews financials monthly within 3 business days of when they are available Review financials with team to assure goals are being met and create plans with individual staff to address performance concerns Works with co-manager and senior director when billing and revenue goals are not being met to determine next course of action What will you bring to Opportunity Partners?
