Vice Chancellor for Human Resources POSITION DETAILS The Office of the Vice Chancellor (VC) for University Human Resources at The City University of New York (CUNY) oversees the development and administration of policies and standards that guide the University’s Human Resources functions supporting 26 colleges and schools across the five boroughs of New York City. This office is also responsible for strengthening and implementing policies that enhance the University’s commitment to equal opportunity and a diverse workforce for its faculty and staff. The Office of the VC for HR plays a key role in the ongoing re-engineering and automation efforts across all HR operational functions, including payroll and benefits administration, time and leave, human resources information systems, project management, and professional development and learning management. In addition, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources supports the system wide implementation of CUNYWork, CUNY’s new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system powered by Workday. This initiative will modernize and integrate human resources, payroll, benefits, and related business processes across the University. The Vice Chancellor will play a critical leadership role in sustaining this transformation and the associated organizational change. Reporting to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer, the VC for University Human Resources is the University system's senior administrator for Human Resources. In consultation with a broad range of university constituencies, the Vice Chancellor develops and administers University-wide HR policies and standards and works collaboratively with University Presidents to coordinate and implement these policies across campuses. The VC leads the effective implementation, adoption and optimization of CUNYWORK, replacing the current PeopleSoft system, CUNYfirst. The Vice Chancellor serves as the Chief Human Resources Administrator, providing strategic guidance on workforce utilization and the recruitment and retention of talent, in alignment with CUNY policies and procedures. This role also serves as the primary liaison to external agencies and vendors. The Vice Chancellor oversees a staff of more than 100 employees, is a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, serves as a trustee of the PSC-CUNY Welfare Fund, and supports both the Board of Trustees’ Committee on Finance and Administration and the Council of Presidents’ committee. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Preferred: Advanced degree in human resources or related discipline and at least 10 years of progressively responsible Human Resources leadership experience in higher education, non-profit or other complex organizations. A record of significant achievement in managing human resources in a complex organization, with substantial experience in and knowledge of payroll operations, health and welfare benefits, classification and compensation, and EEO/affirmative action regulations. POSITION SUMMARY The Executive Director of Clinical Applications is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and optimization of BMCHS’s clinical information systems – namely Epic – and associated ancillary clinical applications. This role will lead multiple teams across ambulatory, inpatient and reporting applications to ensure that clinical technology enhances patient safety, improves clinician workflow, and aligns with broader organizational goals.
