Project Buyer I or II – Energy Storage SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Buyer I or II that will be responsible for working with project teams and suppliers to purchase materials, supplies, equipment and services. This position offers opportunities at both levels I and II, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location. RESPONSIBILITIES Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers: solicit bids, analyze quotations, interview prospective suppliers, and select suppliers along with evaluating supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery time Work with managers to develop profitable purchasing strategies and propose procurement solutions that deliver value and reduce risk Create and maintain procurement logs for each supported operating group project Negotiate and prepare purchase agreements and purchase orders. Ensure suppliers adhere to contractual terms and conditions, including timeliness and quality standards Negotiate with suppliers to purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements Analyze individual markets, handle budget and increase margin on a regular basis, track trends in purchasing habits Track order status from time of placing order until delivery and communicate status to project teams Visit project site to better understand project team challenges and develop streamlined procurement processes to be implemented QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, construction management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience Current driver’s license Knowledge of construction processes, equipment and materials, purchasing processes and procedures Negotiating, organizing, planning, verbal and communication skills Strong customer service and analytical skills Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback Project Buyer I MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience Minimum 2 years of experience The base pay range for this role is $68,700 - $92,800 Project Buyer II MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience Minimum 4 years of experience The base pay range for this role is $76,200 - $114,300 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
