Key Responsibilities • Provide routine and emergency medical care to patients/inmates • Conduct physical examinations, diagnose conditions, and monitor patient progress • Prescribe medications and administer treatments for acute and chronic conditions • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results • Perform minor medical procedures as needed • Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records (EHR) • Complete medical evaluations, reports, and summaries (admission, discharge, etc.) • Manage patient classifications and reviews as required • Refer patients for specialized care when necessary • Collaborate with healthcare staff and interdisciplinary teams • Supervise and provide guidance to nursing and support staff • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and team meetings • Ensure compliance with ODRC policies, protocols, and American Correctional Association standards Workload • Average caseload: Approximately 2.5 patients per hour Minimum Qualifications • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) • Active Ohio medical license (required) • Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine • Healthcare provider-level BLS/CPR certification • DEA certification (as required for the assignment) ________________________________________
