Desired start date: ASAP Practice setting: Clinic Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department Ensure equipment safety, quality patient care, and participate in teaching in accordance with regulatory agencies and medical community standards. Along with participating in treatment procedures, the Medical Physicist will participate in patient-specific QA, chart QA, linear accelerator QA, plan checks, and any additional support needed by our Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists and therapists. Team includes 2 Physicists, 2 Dosimetrists, 8 Radiation Therapists, 3 RNs, 2 Office Secretaries, 1 Billing and Coding Coordinator, 1 Social Worker, and 1 Office Manager. On average, approximately 35 patients are treated daily on 2 machines. The team works closely with our colleagues from our growing Medical Oncology group and interdisciplinary team. Working with the Chief of Physics, the successful candidate will have the skills in calibration and commissioning of linear accelerators and other radiation sources, perform quality assurance of equipment and treatment plans, and implementing new technologies as needed. A good work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment are highly valued. Candidates must be TRULY US Board Eligible (with plans to become Board Certified) or Board Certified by American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP). The American Board of Radiology (ABR) and the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) are both organizations that certify medical physicists who meet certain educational, training, and professional requirements.
