Family Medicine - Physician

Physician - Care Delivery Location: Remote - must be licensed in CA, PA, NY, or FL Contract (1099) Compensation: Approximately $150 per hour We compensate clinicians based on the care they deliver on the platform, with defined values for actions like case review, communication, and clinical decision-making. More complex cases are weighted more heavily. We calibrate the model so the average physician earns approximately $150 per hour. About Lotus Lotus is built to reach the patients the healthcare system doesn't. More than 100 million Americans don't have a primary care provider. Millions more can't get a timely response from the one they have. The result is a system where people delay care, overuse emergency rooms, and manage chronic conditions without support - not because they don't want help, but because access isn't designed to reach them. We are a free, direct-to-patient care platform that connects patients to a network of licensed clinicians delivering primary and urgent care asynchronously and on-demand, with the patient's full longitudinal record always in view. You are the human at the center of that experience. The Role You'll review cases, exercise clinical judgment, and close the loop for patients who often have nowhere else to turn. Your scope spans both primary and urgent care: diagnosing, ordering labs and imaging, prescribing medications, coordinating referrals, and guiding patients through next steps. You are not replacing a hospital or a specialist. You are providing the layer of accessible, thoughtful care that most patients are currently missing entirely. You don't start from scratch. Every case comes with a longitudinal record including prior interactions, chronic conditions, medications, and care plans so you can make decisions with full context. The platform handles documentation support, triage routing, and administrative overhead. You focus on the clinical decision-making. What You'll Do Review and manage patient cases end-to-end, including prescriptions, diagnostic testing, referrals, and follow-ups Deliver care asynchronously across a range of primary and urgent care presentations Use Cortex (our AI assistant) to quickly synthesize patient history, surface relevant context, and support decision-making Escalate urgent clinical concerns clearly and appropriately Contribute feedback that improves care protocols and the product over time What You Bring MD or DO - board certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine Active, unrestricted medical license in at least CA, NY, PA or FL (multi-state licensure a plus) Completed residency - clinically current, detail-oriented, and comfortable using technology in practice Comfortable delivering care asynchronously via written communication Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail HIPAA awareness and good judgment with sensitive patient data Telehealth experience is a plus, not required Why Lotus More than 100 million Americans don't have access to consistent primary care. For many of the patients on Lotus, you may be the first clinician they've been able to reach reliably. This is an opportunity to practice medicine the way most clinicians intended to - with time to think, full context, and the ability to provide care that genuinely fills a gap. You'll work alongside a network of world-class physicians who are actively shaping how care is delivered on the platform and helping maintain a high bar for clinical quality and safety. Every encounter is supported by Cortex, an AI system that works alongside you in real time. It can surface relevant history, check guidelines, synthesize clinical context, and generate differentials that are grounded in both the latest medical knowledge and the specific patient in front of you. The goal isn't to replace clinicians. It's to make you more effective while extending high-quality care to patients who would otherwise go without it.
