Cardiologist Nuclear Medicine & Radiation Safety Officer Location: Long Island, New York Compensation: Up to $500,000 annually Schedule: Monday Friday, 40 hours per week Call: None Weekends: None Setting: Growing multi-specialty physician group Start Date: As soon as credentialing permits Exceptional Cardiology Opportunity A rapidly growing, physician-led multi-specialty medical group on Long Island is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Cardiologist to join its collaborative and patient-focused team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a cardiologist who wants to combine comprehensive outpatient cardiovascular care with advanced diagnostic interpretation and leadership of an established nuclear medicine program. The position offers annual compensation of up to $500,000 , no call, no weekends, a Monday Friday schedule, and experienced clinical and administrative support. The selected physician will provide patient care across multiple Long Island locations and serve as the Radiation Safety Officer for the organization s nuclear medicine laboratory . Nuclear medicine experience and the ability to oversee applicable radiation-safety standards are especially important. Position Highlights Annual compensation of up to $500,000 Monday Friday schedule 40 hours per week No weekends No call Outpatient cardiovascular care Advanced cardiac and vascular diagnostic interpretation Radiation Safety Officer leadership responsibility Established nuclear medicine laboratory Medical insurance 401(k) retirement plan Profit-sharing opportunities Experienced clinical and administrative support Strong physician autonomy and work-life balance Immediate need with a streamlined interview process Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive cardiovascular care to adult patients Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions Conduct detailed cardiovascular assessments Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans Order and interpret appropriate cardiovascular testing Collaborate with primary care physicians and specialty providers Educate patients regarding prevention, medications, and treatment options Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation Provide patient care across multiple Long Island locations Deliver compassionate care while maintaining the highest clinical standards Diagnostic Interpretation Requirements The Cardiologist must be comfortable reading and interpreting: Echocardiograms Carotid studies Abdominal aortic aneurysm studies Lower-extremity arterial Doppler studies Lower-extremity venous Doppler studies Nuclear medicine studies Cardiac stress tests Radiation Safety Officer Responsibilities The physician will also serve as the Radiation Safety Officer for the nuclear medicine laboratory . Responsibilities include: Provide physician oversight of the nuclear medicine program Promote compliance with applicable radiation-safety requirements Support the safe handling, administration, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials Collaborate with nuclear medicine technologists and clinical leadership Review radiation-safety practices, documentation, and quality standards Participate in required audits, inspections, training, and corrective actions Maintain a strong culture of patient and employee safety Required Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease Active New York medical license or eligibility to obtain one Experience interpreting echocardiograms, vascular studies, nuclear studies, and stress tests Meaningful nuclear medicine or nuclear cardiology experience Ability to satisfy applicable qualifications to serve as Radiation Safety Officer Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care Willingness to practice across multiple Long Island locations Preferred Qualifications Board Certification in Cardiovascular Disease Nuclear cardiology certification or advanced nuclear medicine experience Current Authorized User status Previous Radiation Safety Officer experience Outpatient cardiology experience Strong proficiency interpreting noninvasive cardiac and vascular studies Experience within a multi-location physician group Compensation and Benefits Annual compensation of up to $500,000 Medical insurance 401(k) retirement plan Profit-sharing program No weekend coverage No on-call responsibilities Supportive clinical and administrative infrastructure Collaborative multi-specialty environment Strong professional autonomy Excellent work-life balance Qualified physicians are encouraged to apply for immediate and confidential consideration.
