Precision Welder (Direct Hire) – Poughkeepsie, NY Position Overview We’re seeking an experienced Precision Welder for a direct hire opportunity in Poughkeepsie, NY. This role supports custom, low-volume fabrication in a fast-paced environment and is ideal for someone who takes pride in tight-tolerance, high-quality welds and enjoys non-repetitive work. Key Responsibilities Perform precision TIG & MIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel Fit, align, and tack components to blueprint specifications Interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and tolerances Build custom, one-off and short-run assemblies Inspect welds for accuracy, strength, and visual quality Perform grinding, finishing, and rework as needed Set up and maintain welding equipment and fixtures Follow all quality and safety standards Collaborate with fabrication, machining, and assembly teams Required Qualifications 2 years TIG/MIG welding experience in a precision or custom fabrication environment Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) – Preferred Proven ability to work within tight tolerances Strong blueprint reading skills (weld symbols required) Experience welding stainless steel and aluminum Proficient with measuring tools (calipers, squares, tape measure) Strong fitting and layout skills Preferred Experience in a job shop or high-mix environment Background in sheet metal fabrication or mechanical assembly Basic machining experience Ability to troubleshoot and adjust weld parameters Schedule & Compensation Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Pay: Competitive; based on skills and experience Direct Hire (full-time, permanent position) Why This Role Stands Out Direct hire — no contract period Work on custom, non-repetitive projects Opportunity to showcase precision craftsmanship Stable, team-oriented manufacturing environment CTD115 Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
