Overview: Serves as a clinical and administrative support to the Nurse Manager on a designated unit to ensure the delivery of professional and outcomes-focused care. Accountable for daily staffing and unit based follow-up of issues that assist in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care needs based on quality benchmarking, patient acuity/care trends, staff clinical education needs and patient satisfaction. Provides leadership to ensure excellence in nursing research, education, and practice. Works with the Nurse Manager to provide staff development and performance evaluations, and works collaboratively with the Nursing Coordinators to facilitate throughput. Represents the Nurse Manager/Director when needed. Qualifications: Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Current RN license in state of Florida. Master's degree in Nursing required. Consideration will be given to those currently enrolled in formal education to obtain MSN. National nursing certification required within six months of hire. Minimum of two years in clinical specialty. Demonstrates autonomous and accountable nursing practice with knowledge and application of patient care outcomes management. Demonstrates excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to influence staff's knowledge and application of evidence-based practice. Demonstrates ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
