Purpose: Responsible for having a strong understanding of the equipment he/she uses, pick locations, pallet building, productivity measures, and safety procedures. Job Responsibilities: Operate a ride‑on electric pallet jack to safely and efficiently select product and build stable, properly cubed pallets in pick sequence. Accurately locate pick slots and select correct items and quantities, verifying UPCs or item descriptions. Label, shrink‑wrap, and stage pallets with correct truck, stop, and load information in designated bays. Inspect pallet jack and work area for safety issues; report equipment problems, mis‑located product, hazards, or policy violations immediately. Record required productivity and order information and respond to first and last call for out‑of‑stocks as needed. Maintain clean aisles and work areas, park and recharge equipment properly, and follow all safety, HACCP, and SQF procedures. Performance Expectations: Selectors are measured on performance, accuracy, safety, and quality. Meeting company standards is required; exceeding performance standards is recognized and rewarded. Teamwork, communication, and reliability are essential to daily success. Experience Required: Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available. Understanding of Safety guidelines Skills/ Abilities: This is a fast‑paced, physically demanding role requiring frequent lifting (up to 75 lbs), standing, walking, bending, and twisting throughout the shift. Work is performed in temperature‑controlled environments ranging from below zero in perishable areas to warm conditions in dry grocery. Repetitive hand and arm motions, overhead work, equipment operation, and strong balance and coordination are required to safely perform the job.
