Job Requirements Overview Under general supervision, performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures with radioisotope and radiation detection methods. Key Responsibilities Key Responsibility 1: Executes basic clinical competence in nuclear medicine technology, in one location across all patient types. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications in order to perform patient imaging procedures using nuclear medicine instrumentation. Processes data and enhances digital images using advanced computer technology. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Selects accurate technical factors and appropriateness on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient. Key Responsibility 2: Applies knowledge of nuclear medicine principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and physics, quality assurance, positioning and patient care skills.
