Registered Nurse – Corrections / Student Health Services Location: Lima, OH 45801 Pay: $45–$50/hr Shift: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM Every 3rd Weekend Type: Contract-to-Hire About the Role We are seeking a professional, licensed Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a corrections or student health environment. This role requires adherence to strict security protocols, including the use of clear bags and passing a metal detector (no silverware, coffee mugs, or tumblers allowed). The ideal candidate is experienced in direct patient care, administration of medications, monitoring patients, and coordinating health services for diverse populations, including students, inmates, or other facility residents. Key Responsibilities Deliver professional nursing care to students, inmates, or facility staff. Observe, assess, and document patient conditions, symptoms, and progress. Perform nursing rounds, vitals, treatments, and administer medications and immunizations. Monitor high-risk patients on a timely basis, including those restrained or isolated. Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and coordinate hospital transfers. Organize and lead “Code Blue” teams and direct assigned healthcare staff. Develop care plans, teach health principles, and provide specialized procedures (IV therapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusions, CPR, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, phlebotomy). Maintain accurate medical documentation, controlled substance inventory, and reports. Schedule outpatient appointments and manage prescription orders. Participate in staff development, training, and orientation of new employees. Serve as liaison and participate in problem-solving teams as needed. Requirements Current Registered Nurse licensure in Ohio (per Ohio Board of Nursing Section 4723.03). CPR certification at healthcare-professional level. Ability to pass security screening (metal detector) and comply with clear bag policy. Physical fitness to perform clinical duties. Excellent organizational, communication, and patient care skills. Submissions missing required documents or exceeding budgeted pay will be rejected. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with competitive pay between $45–$50/hr for qualified candidates.
