Develop a comprehensive working knowledge of project contract documents, (drawings and specifications, and requirements by reference, etc. Maintain applicable industry reference standards and facilitate project access to relevant team members. Develop and implement a project Quality Control orientation program to ensure project team members are familiar with the requirements of the project QC Management Plan, and conduct to relevant project specific training, relative to Quality Control roles, responsibilities, processes, and procedures. Contribute to interpretation and dissemination and communication of project quality control requirements to relevant, staff including field crews and craft supervision. Assist in document management to ensure all project documents are updated and current to reflect any changes, revisions, etc. Assist in the procurement, buy-out, and management of subcontractors, suppliers/vendors to ensure subcontract /vendor agreements capture required quality related scope of work. Prepare and submit accurate Quality Control project status project reports. Manage project submittal process to ensure timely receipt, review and approval of submittals and shop drawings, as-builts, and other required documentation. Actively participate in RFI process to ensure timely receipt, review, response close out. Monitor project work for any non-compliance issues and ensure corrective measures are approved, executed and closed-out with documented acceptance. Manage project close-out including, timely management of punch list, commissioning, and transitional system operations turnover. Qualifications: Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and relevant experience. Minimum of two (2) years of documented experience performing in a construction quality control management role on a heavy civil construction rail project. Comprehensive understanding of construction industry practices and standards as well as experience with supervision, estimating, scheduling, budget preparation and project status reporting. Experience utilizing project management software systems. Currently possess or the ability to attain; NETTCP Quality Assurance Technologist, and USACE Construction Quality Manager Certification. Position Summary: The Site Safety Manager is responsible for promoting and enforcing of the corporate Health, Safety & Environment (“HSE”) program and providing safety support to construction operations. The position requires the ability to work collaboratively with field operations to support a safe work environment for Team Members while using independent judgment to resolve safety related issues. Responsibilities: Complies with, enforces, and actively promotes all corporate safety policies and procedures in addition to ensuring adherence to our number one core value – Safety first in all we do. Assists the HSE Department in managing the overall corporate safety program by conducting, tracking and reporting on accident/incident, near miss reports, audits, engagement activities, observations, orientations, trainings and other related safety activities, as well as recordkeeping of related documents. Assists the project in work planning and development of job hazard analysis and safe work procedures Performs regular field safety inspections, accident/incident investigations (including root cause analysis), industrial hygiene assessments and safety audits on active construction projects. Prepares daily and weekly reports on all safety activities. Conducts safety orientations and training in small and large group environments. Performs additional assignments as required by the needs of the Company, or as otherwise directed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a safety related field strongly preferred. 3-7 years of field safety experience in heavy civil construction, transportation or related field. Knowledge of general construction safety and health regulations, including OSHA. Certified Health & Safety Technician (CHST) certificate or equivalent strongly preferred. Experience with Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) preferred. OSHA Authorized Construction Trainer. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong computer skills including Office 365 productivity suite. Necessary Attributes: Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles. Reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with minimal supervision. Self-motivated, dedicated and hard working. Above average organizational skills. Position Summary: The Paving Foreman provides overall support directly to the Paving Operation and ensures that projects are completed in a Safe manner with quality and productive results. Responsibilities: Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety, first in everything we do. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Maintain good health status w/ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. and flexibility to bend, push, pull, stoop and/or twist. If sick, call your Superintendent a minimum of 2 hours prior to designated start time. Able to read and understand Plans and Specifications for each project. Be sure to have a copy of the Project Plans with you at all times and confirm the information with the Superintendent or Project Manager. Must be on site (30) minutes prior to start time. Review the project with the Superintendent to ensure project is ready, and all equipment is on site, functioning properly, and in position for a prompt start. Be sure exchange contact information with Project Personnel. Ensure proper layout of project from contract drawings to ensure the highest quality and productive practices are used. Establish and maintain positive relationship with all those working under your supervision as well as the Project Superintendent, and Owner. Conduct Weekly Toolbox Talks and turn in to Safety Department. Supervise and coordinate activities for all Team Members under your supervision. Monitor Paving Operations for proper depth, yield, cross slope and density and ensure that all specifications and project requirements are met with the highest quality. Ensure crew and trucks are operating efficiently at all times. Determine asphalt tonnage and mix type required. Calculate number of trucks required for the Paving Operation. Daily trucking reports must be filled out each day and monitored throughout the shift and communicated with Superintendent and Dispatch, add or subtract trucks as needed. All Change Orders or Extra Work must be approved by the Project Manager and signed for prior to work being done. Be sure assigned equipment is properly maintained and kept clean at all times. Report any necessary equipment repairs to the Shop Superintendent as soon as they become known. Make sure all equipment is parked in a safe area in a neat and orderly fashion and accessible to transports. Know and understand the clear zone requirements. Place Type 2 barricades if needed making sure the equipment is not a hazard. If there are issues with a Team Member, suspend the Team Member until it is discussed with the Operations Manager. Terminations are done by Senior Management ONLY. Be sure all equipment is fueled, filled with water at the end of each shift. Be sure all operators are properly filling out a Daily Equipment Condition Report and turning them in Daily. Order Tool Truck Supplies ahead of time through the Shop Superintendent. Be sure all Subcontractors time is verified and signed in and out each shift legibly—MUST PRINT NAME. Inspect the project daily, prior to departing, to ensure work is complete with the highest quality and all cleanup is complete. All Accidents/Incidents MUST be reported immediately to your supervisor and the Safety Department. Qualifications: Safety and Quality orientated. Must Possess a valid Driver’s License. Strong leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Organized; ability to multi-task; detail-oriented. Team Player with good interpersonal skills.
