Position Summary: The Estimator is responsible for the accurate takeoff and pricing of the work, including all direct and indirect costs for heavy/civil/roadway/marine projects. The Estimator directs all estimators working on the bid, manages the preparation of a pre-bid schedule, and assists with contacting, comparing, and selecting the appropriate subcontractors and vendors. Work as integral part of our Estimating team to perform plan and specification analysis, takeoff and pricing of road, bridge, marine and other heavy/civil projects with values from $5 million to $400 million. Work with subcontractors and vendors to define scope, and perform subcontractor and vendor analysis. Assist with all Estimating functions for Lump Sum, Design/Build and Unit Price projects. Assist with the budgeting, purchasing and cost functions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or construction-related field. Minimum of 2 years of field construction experience. Minimum of 3 years as a full-time Road/Bridge/Marine estimator. Excellent computer skills and Heavy bid estimating software knowledge. Experience with computerized takeoff and/or design programs. Necessary Attributes: Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities, management styles and team compositions. Strong analytical ability, the capacity to interpret data and make recommendations. Team player and with strong interpersonal skills. Mass Ready Mix - Concrete Plant Operator

Position Summary The Ready Mix Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ready mix concrete batch plant, ensuring quality concrete production while meeting customer delivery schedules. This position oversees batching operations, monitors inventory and plant performance, maintains production records, and coordinates with dispatch, drivers, Quality Control, mechanics, and supervisors to support daily operations. Safely operate the ready mix concrete batch plant and all related production equipment. Produce concrete in accordance with approved mix designs, customer requirements, and project specifications. Coordinate daily production activities with Dispatch to meet customer schedules and delivery demands. Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, Quality Control, mechanics, and supervisors regarding production schedules, equipment issues, material availability, and operational concerns. Monitor inventory levels of cement, aggregates, admixtures, fly ash, slag, fuel, and other materials, notifying management of replenishment needs before shortages impact production. Coordinate deliveries of raw materials and plant supplies to maintain uninterrupted plant operations. Maintain accurate production records, batch reports, inventory logs, and other operational documentation. Identify and report non-conforming materials, batching discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns. Understand and properly utilize concrete mix designs, admixtures, aggregate gradations, cementitious materials, and water adjustments to maintain product quality. Perform routine inspections, housekeeping, cleaning, and preventative maintenance of the batch plant and associated equipment. Assist with troubleshooting plant controls, conveyors, silos, bins, scales, valves, mixers, and other production equipment. Work closely with mechanics and Quality Control personnel to resolve operational or quality-related issues. Follow all environmental regulations, company policies, and operating procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous ready mix batching or concrete production experience preferred. Working knowledge of concrete materials, mix designs, batching procedures, and quality control practices preferred. Knowledge of aggregates, admixtures, cementitious materials, fly ash, slag, and water adjustments is preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and report equipment issues. Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and computerized batch control systems is preferred. Ability to read and interpret mix designs, batch tickets, production schedules, and written instructions. Basic computer proficiency, including production software and data entry. Strong mathematical skills, including fractions, decimals, percentages, and unit conversions. Excellent communication and organizational skills. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certification is preferred but not required. Valid CDL is a plus but not required. Previous lead operator or supervisory experience is a plus. Necessary Attributes: Ability to work in an active ready mix production facility with frequent exposure to moving equipment, dust, noise, vibration, and varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely access elevated platforms, silos, and other plant equipment. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and reinforced toe footwear.
