Participates in nursing report at the beginning of each work shift prior to working with patients. Assists the nurse in observing patients and communicates any problems in completing tasks or changes in the patients status. Respects the patients rights, concerns, privacy, and dignity at all times. Ensures that patients are dressed properly and are clean and dry at all times. Checks patient for reddened areas and signs of skin breakdown, and reports findings to the nurse immediately. Conducts hourly monitoring for patients utilizing safeguarding equipment while in bed. Notifies the nurse when a patient complains about or exhibits signs of pain or injury. Maintains organization and cleanliness of patients residential area including clothing, equipment, and personal property. Maintains cleanliness of patients wheelchairs. Takes monthly weights on patients and reports results to PCA Supervisor. Works with a partner to complete duties in accordance with facility policies. Participates in and contributes to departmental and interdisciplinary team meetings. Participates in and assists patients in recreational activities. Transports patients to and from various activities or programs; Accompanies patients to outside appointments when necessary. Demonstrates the ability to follow directions, both oral and written, and works cooperatively with other staff members.
