Job Details Job Details: We are seeking a proficient Permanent Sheet Metal Estimator to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in preconstruction estimating, particularly in the area of sheet metal. This role requires a deep understanding of bid documents, QuickPen, and other estimating software. The successful candidate will have the ability to develop RFI, process RFQ's, and take off preconstruction, along with a proven track record as a commercial construction estimator. Responsibilities: 1. Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and other related documents to create comprehensive cost estimates for sheet metal projects. 2. Utilize QuickPen and other estimating software to accurately estimate labor, material, and equipment costs. 3. Prepare and submit competitive project bid proposals, ensuring all aspects of the project are accounted for and the bid is submitted in a timely manner. 4. Develop and process RFIs and RFQs, coordinating with project managers, engineers, and vendors as necessary. 5. Conduct preconstruction take-offs and create detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects. 6. Collaborate with project teams to understand and manage client expectations, ensuring all estimates meet client needs and budget constraints. 7. Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, materials, and construction methods to ensure the most accurate and competitive estimates. 8. Participate in bid negotiations, providing detailed breakdowns and justifications for cost estimates when required. Qualifications: 1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Estimator in the construction industry. 2. Proficiency with estimating software such as QuickPen. 3. Extensive experience in preconstruction estimating, with a focus on sheet metal projects. 4. Familiarity with bid documents, RFIs, RFQs, and other related project documentation. 5. Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with an ability to create accurate cost estimates. 6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to clearly explain and justify cost estimates. 7. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 8. Knowledge of current industry trends, materials, and construction methods. 9. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
