Participates in formulation and development of health care setting policies regarding participation in community planning with respect to social work and psychiatric social work service. 11. Provides consultation to community agencies regarding use of health care settings and activities relating to medical and psychiatric social work. 12. Formulates, plans, directs and initiates research objectives and programs in areas of social work, and coordinates cooperative research projects with other departments. 13. Evaluates and audits social work programs and program accomplishments, and makes recommendations for appropriate action. 14. Maintains relationships with professional organizations in social services, social work and related disciplines; keeps abreast of new developments and approaches, with particular reference to health, medical and psychiatric care; and evaluates and makes appropriate recommendations for social work improvements. 15. Represents the health care setting as a participating educator of other professional disciplines and personnel of health and mental health settings. 16. Maintains ultimate responsibility for delivery of social work services involving direct services to patients and their families, consultative services to health care setting staff and Physicians, and consultative relationships with community programs. 17.
