Maintenance Supervisor
Summary: Shift: 1st/2nd/3rd Shift The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and coordinating the maintenance and repair of production machinery and mechanical equipment. This position ensures optimal equipment performance while supporting team development, safety, and continuous improvement across the maintenance department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Test, monitor, and evaluate equipment performance Observe and troubleshoot mechanical devices during operation Dismantle devices and identify defective parts Inspect parts for wear and dimensional changes Adjust functional components and instrumentation Repair or replace defective components Install functional and structural parts Lubricate, clean, and test equipment Operate tools such as drill press, grinders, and other metalworking tools Initiate purchase orders for parts and machinery Repair electrical systems and perform skilled tasks (welding, plumbing, brazing) Service pumps, fans, motors, and valves Adjust and repair electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems Perform and document preventative maintenance Maintain good condition of tools and equipment Develop and review maintenance work orders and schedules Supervise maintenance of building, equipment, and grounds Ensure proper use and accountability for maintenance tools and materials Enforce safety protocols and GMP compliance Address employee issues, complaints, and performance Support company leadership and culture initiatives Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department Responsible for: Interviewing, hiring, and training employees Planning, assigning, and directing work Performance evaluations, recognition, and discipline Resolving complaints and problems Participating in leadership development programs and company culture efforts Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED (required) Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience Minimum 4 years of maintenance-related experience Other Skills and Abilities: Mechanically inclined with knowledge of electrical principles Operates forklifts and mobile carts Familiarity with preventative maintenance best practices Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos Write and communicate clearly in one-on-one or group settings Mathematical Skills: Perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) Compute ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs Reasoning Ability: Follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions Solve routine problems using common sense Physical Demands: Frequently required to walk, use hands, talk, and hear Occasionally required to stand, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Requires close, distance, color, and depth vision Work Environment: Frequently exposed to high places and airborne particles Occasionally exposed to humidity, outdoor elements, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock Work environment is typically loud Skills and Certifications [note: bold skills and certification are required] Test, monitor, and evaluate equipment performance, troubleshoot mechanical devices Dismantle devices, Repair or replace defective components, Repair electrical systems welding, plumbing, brazing, Enforce safety protocols and GMP Security Clearance Required: No Visa Candidate Considered: No Candidate Details 5 to 7 years experience Seniority Level - Mid-Senior Management Experience Required - No Minimum Education - High School Diploma or Equivalent
