Job Description Job Description Link Equipment LLC is looking for an experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment & Class 8 Truck Mechanic to join our field service team. This position is ideal for a skilled mechanic who enjoys working independently, diagnosing problems in the field, and keeping heavy equipment and trucks operating safely and efficiently. This position will operate primarily from a service truck, traveling to customer locations, jobsites, and equipment yards to perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance. Job Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction and industrial equipment. Diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 8 trucks and heavy-duty vehicles. Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, and other mechanical systems. Perform preventative maintenance and inspections. Use diagnostic equipment and electrical test equipment to identify mechanical and electrical problems. Perform hydraulic troubleshooting and component replacement. Perform welding and fabrication when necessary. Complete repairs safely and efficiently with limited shop support while working in the field. Maintain accurate service records and document parts and labor. Communicate professionally with customers and provide updates on equipment condition and repair needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service truck. Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA and DOT requirements. Respond to emergency and breakdown service calls when required. Perform other duties related to heavy equipment and truck repair as needed.
