Conducts audits of packaged, staged and loaded shipments to ensure compliance with Ply Gem quality requirements and specifications. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and shop drawings to determine material specifications and cutting requirements. Set up and operate metal sawing machines, including band saws, to cut metal stock to required dimensions. Transfer materials from stock areas to machines manually or with the use of forklifts or pallet jacks. Set stops and guides to control dimensions of cuts using measuring tools and hand tools. Monitor saw blade condition, tension, cutting angles, and cutting speeds to ensure quality production. Replace worn or defective saw blades using hand tools as needed. Manage coolant flow in cutting areas to ensure proper machine operation. Inspect finished materials for accuracy and compliance with specifications using measuring devices. Mark identifying information on completed workpieces. Accurately record production time and completed work using the company's computer data collection system. Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all plant safety procedures. Work collaboratively with team members across departments to meet production goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and shop drawings. Basic shop math skills, including working with decimals and measurements. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions. Willingness to learn new skills and increase technical knowledge. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and continuous improvement. Ability to safely operate a forklift and pallet jack (or willingness to become certified). Ability to lift, move, and handle metal materials safely. Preferred Qualifications Previous manufacturing, warehouse, laborer, machine operator, or metal fabrication experience. Experience operating saws, cutting equipment, or other industrial machinery.
