Orthopedic Spine Surgeon Opportunity: Mercy Health Physicians-Youngstown is seeking a board certified or board eligible Orthopedic Spine Surgeon who has completed an Orthopedic Spine fellowship to join our Orthopedics and Sports Medicine department. Primary responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient clinical care for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients who suffer from spinal trauma, conditions, and injuries. This physician must possess procedural competence to enhance the function of patients affected body parts, heal injuries, and alleviate pain, which includes treatment of chronic and acute injuries in patients. This position comes with the opportunity to develop an Orthopedic Spine program with access to three community hospitals and an ambulatory surgery center. The Mercy Health Physicians Youngstown Orthopedics and Sports Medicine practices are large and high volume in the region, with a total of 8 employed orthopedic surgeons including 2 fellowship trained in sports medicine, 3 fellowship trained in orthopedic trauma, 2 fellowship trained in total joints, and 1 general orthopedist. The practice is experiencing growth and is seeking a Spine Specialist to add to their provided services in Orthopedics. The call model includes 7 days per month at our level 1 trauma center, with weekend rotation 1:5, and holiday rotation. Mercy Health Youngstown has a five-year program with ACGME initial accreditation status. We are currently approved for 15 residency positions and are accepting three new residents per year. The goal of the orthopedic surgery residency program is to provide quality training and education to physicians who desire to prepare themselves for the practice of orthopedic surgery. Our program is guided by experienced and dedicated faculty who provide a stimulating educational, clinical, and academic environment with more than 150 years of total experience.
