Job Description Job Description We are seeking a skilled Marine Diesel Technician to join our team. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vessels and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical skills and the ability to work with heavy machinery. Our shop is located in Williamstown, NJ, and you must be able to commute. Hours for the position are 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday Responsibilities: Preparing work plans after troubleshooting issues. Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer a suitable solution. Repairing or replacing engines, transmissions, or control systems. Sea trialing the vessel after repairs are made to verify the repair. Weld and fabricate parts as necessary. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required Ability to obtain a TWIC card. In-depth knowledge of diesel engines and their control systems. Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics. Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills. Keen attention to detail. Good interpersonal skills. Effective collaboration and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will collaborate to construct, install, and repair a variety of mostly residential projects, especially kitchen and bath remodeling, decks, small additions, as well as work on older period homes.
