Primarily working in the Aerospace and Medical device industries. Responsibilities Performs SET UP, PROGRAM TEST, FIRST PIECE "PROVE-OUT" RUN, in-process inspections, and CNC of precision-machined parts. Works with production and engineering teams to address and resolve production issues in CNC Milling. Responsible for selecting correct tooling hardware and measurement equipment. Responsible for ensuring that the machines are well maintained . Working in accordance with ISO requirements. Must be able to work independently. Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: Minimum 5 years CNC Machining / Milling experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment. Measurement and inspection skills a must. Strong knowledge of Blueprint reading with GD&T required. Working within the ISO 9001 quality standard required. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Must have a strong aptitude in mechanical blueprints and drawings Must have a working knowledge of CAD systems. Must be very detail oriented. Strong math skills. Ability to follow process plans, routers and inspection plans. Has a strong background with workplace safety, OSHA regulations. Must be able to effectively communicate with employees of varying education levels. Comfortable working with very tight , "tenths" tolerances. Must be experienced in measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gage, dial indicators. 1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY 1.1 This position establishes the authority, reporting relationships, tasks and duties with performance standards for the CNC Specialist. 2.0 JOB TITLE 2.1 CNC Specialist 3.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS 3.1 The CNC Specialist reports to the CNC Manager. 4.0 REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Education Required: High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Vocational School Certificate / Associates degree in Mechanical, MFG, IND Engineering technology. 4.2 Licensing, Registration, and certification Required: None. Preferred: None. 4.3 Experience Required: A minimum of one year experience in CNC or tooling production. 4.4 Skills, Knowledge, Abilities 4.4.1 Must have strong math skills. 4.4.2 Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. 4.4.3 Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees of varying education levels. 4.5 Physical Requirements 4.5 The physical requirements are stressful with the majority of time spent standing working with machinery. This position requires manual dexterity of the hands and the normal bending and twisting associated with plant operations. Walking, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, kneeling and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers and the ability to lift at least forty (40) pounds. Must be able to work in areas with moderate to high noise levels. Must be able to constantly kneel, squat, climb and have full bending abilities at the waist (touch the toes). The body senses of sight (not color blind), hearing (safety) is required. Good vision to read diagrams and business documents. Must be able to wear safety glasses and hearing protection for prolong periods of time. 4.6 Mental: Basic math skills, mechanical engineering understanding, blueprint reading, as well as reading, writing and spelling and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English. 5.0 WORKING CONDITIONS 5.1 The majority of the time (95%) will be spent in a non-smoking plant environment. Temperatures will remain consistent throughout the year. Noise levels will be high in the plant area and moderate in the office area. Work hours will be dependant upon the weekly production and shipping schedules. Work hours may be long when specific projects are due, therefore, some extended schedules will be necessary. 6.0 TASKS AND DUTIES 6.1 Responsible for the proper operation of the machines. 6.2 Responsible for performing the daily machine set up process – clean the machine, complete the set up the machine for the first job. 6.3 Responsible for producing high quality finished products in accordance with the customer’s requirements. 6.4 Responsible for completing the job within the allotted job budget dollars. 6.5 Completes the bead blasting process when necessary. 6.6 Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the machines. Job Description Job Description CNC Mill Machinist Long Term – Potential Temp to Hire Location: Escondido, CA Responsibilities Include: · Set Up and operation for CNC Mill Machinist role · Efficiently set-up and operate CNC machine · Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools · Read and interpret drawings / blueprints and perform in-process inspections · Read GD&T symbols and develop appropriate machining methods · Work and communicate well with others · Follows safety procedures Requirements Include: · 2 years of experience as a setup machinist on CNC Mills · Ability to use inspections tools to verify part conformance · Organized and possess good computer skills · Strong computer and math skills · Excellent technical and analytical skills · Great attention to detail · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Highly developed concentration and precision · Knowledge of Okuma Controls – Haas, Fadal or Fanus - Desired Physical Requirements: · Standing 5 Hours a day · Walking 1-5 hours a week · Bending , kneeling, crouching, reaching and stretching hands and arms · Ability to lift, carry, push and pull materials up to 50 Lbs, but mostly using mechanical assistance especially for large items or weights exceeding this weight limit · Wear protective clothing or equipment as required including safety glasses, ear protection – cut resistant gloves and steel toed boots.
