Job Title Registered Nurse – PACU Location New Orleans, LA Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days (5x8 Hours, 7:00–15:30) | Onsite Key Responsibilities Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to both adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor surgical department supporting 34 operating rooms. Support patients undergoing all major surgical services including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab procedures, and regional anesthesia or ECT cases. Float to pediatric PACU as needed, caring for patients of all ages in both pre-op and recovery phases. Utilize specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and AccuVein as part of routine patient care. Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and adhere to all unit protocols and safety standards. Participate in scheduled weekend rotations (2–3 weekends per contract period). Required Qualifications Active RN license (Compact or Louisiana state license required and must be in hand at time of submission). Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or a directly related specialty. Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications (AHA-issued certifications required). Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system. Ability and willingness to float to pediatric PACU as operationally needed. Willingness to serve on an emergency response team and remain at or return to the facility during declared emergency events as directed by unit management. Preferred Experience / Skills Background in PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing strongly preferred. Experience caring for pediatric surgical populations in a high-volume setting. Familiarity with regional anesthesia patient care and ECT procedures.
