Duties & Responsibilities: Performs routine inspections or special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components; performs complete operations checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging and controls, etc. Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair scheme, quantity and type of parts needed to accomplish proper repair; secures necessary parts from Stores or departmental supplies. Repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes to units when necessary. Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions. Consults the Maintenance Lead if technical assistance is needed during the repair process. Inspects completed work before sign off to identify any needed rework; performs rework; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances. Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using test equipment specified by the original equipment manufacturer. Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping after finishing all designated operations. Submits completed/in-progress work to Maintenance Lead for review; submits to Quality Assurance for final/in-progress inspection and re-certification of airworthiness. Provides supervisor with performance statistics and other operational data, as requested. Properly accounts for time and materials used in all inspection and maintenance activities. Qualifications: Education: High School/ GED A&P Experience: Required: A & P License; minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience with small aircraft/ general aviation trained in one aircraft type; proficient and demonstrated skill with the aircraft. Several years or actual and recent depot level aircraft maintenance and repair experience is required, (repair of mechanical systems, components, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, rigging etc.); proficiency with interpretation of original equipment manufacturer’s technical data or work package instructions; experience using power or pneumatic hand tools. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Assignments require Standard Knowledge of a Technical Area. Rapid learning and application of new information and concepts within the Technical Area begins to take place at this level. Performs moderately complex Technical Assignments. Assists Advanced Level Technicians on more complex technical assignments. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repairs and maintenance. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. Skilled with repairing, troubleshooting, installing and equipment maintenance. STS Line Maintenance is hiring A&P Mechanics to support and grow our line maintenance operations in Boston, Massachusetts. This role supports the daily maintenance needs of our airline customers and plays a critical role in delivering safe, reliable, and on-time aircraft service. Position Overview The A&P Mechanic supports aircraft line maintenance activities in a fast-paced operational environment. This position works closely with airline partners, flight crews, and maintenance control teams to ensure aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and reliability. Job Responsibilities and Duties Report directly to the Line Maintenance Station Manager and Station Leads Work in close partnership with field airlines, flight crews, and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers Ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies, and best practices Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment Maintain the highest level of quality, safety, and integrity in all maintenance activities Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results while following maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks, and technical documentation Use precision instruments and equipment to measure parts for wear and determine repair or replacement needs Perform additional duties as required to support operational needs Work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions as required Perform maintenance on Commercial and Large Regional aircraft, including but not limited to:Boeing 737, 757, 767, 777 Airbus A320 family and A330 CRJ 700 and 900 ERJ 135 and 145 Embraer 170 and 190 Ideal Candidate Requirements and Qualifications Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with no history of infractions Recent A&P experience on turbine powered aircraft preferred Previous experience working on Commercial and Large Regional aircraft desired but not required Willingness to train candidates with a valid A&P license and strong desire to learn Own set of standard line maintenance tools with calibrated and specialty tooling provided Self motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to stand, climb ladders and stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted with or without accommodations Ability to pass background check and drug and alcohol screening Ability to obtain Customs and Border Protection clearance Basic to mid level computer and organizational skills Experience working under an FAA approved Part 145 repair station or Part 135 environment highly desired Inspection Authorization license is a plus Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications Ability to troubleshoot and repair aircraft airframe and engine systems including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays Strong customer focus, communication skills, and work ethic Rate of Pay $33 to $44 per hour based on experience Bonus available based on candidate qualifications Benefits Full time employees receive PTO, Health Insurance, and 401K No benefits for part time positions About STS Line Maintenance STS Line Maintenance operates more than 50 line maintenance stations across the United States, Bahamas, United Kingdom, and France.
