Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs. Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process. Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
