Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year A bit about us: Our property management firm is seeking a high-volume, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our dedicated accounting team in Forest Hills, Queens. This role is a specialized position within our AR department, specifically designed to manage the critical security deposit lifecycle for our expansive portfolio of 7,500 active residential units. The ideal candidate is a "Yardi Power-User" who thrives in a fast-paced, high-transaction environment and understands the regulatory urgency of NYC tenant accounting. Why join us? Schedule: Full-time, 5 days per week onsite in Forest Hills for the first 1–3 months (training phase), transitioning to a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite / 1 day remote). Job Details The Strategic Mission As our AR Specialist, your primary focus will be the professional management of Statement of Deposit Accounting (SODA). You will be the point person for approximately 100–150 move-out dispositions per month, ensuring that every tenant ledger is reconciled with precision and that security deposit refunds are processed in strict accordance with NYC and NYS housing laws. Key Responsibilities High-Volume SODA Management: Execute 100–150 Statement of Deposit Accountings (SODAs) monthly across the 7,500 unit portfolio. Security Deposit Lifecycle: Manage the full lifecycle in Yardi Voyager, including accurate posting, clearing account reconciliations, and interest-bearing account tracking. Compliance & Regulations: Process refunds and charges in full compliance with the 14-day NYC/NYS return requirements and DHCR rent-stabilized guidelines. Ledger Reconciliation: Research and resolve complex tenant ledger discrepancies related to security deposits, unapplied cash, and aged receivables. Cross-Departmental Synergy: Coordinate closely with Property Management, Leasing, and Legal teams to verify move-out conditions and finalize dispositions. Records Management: Compile and digitize all correspondence, refund checks, and proof of mailing to maintain an audit-ready "tenant drive." Tenant Relations: Act as a professional point of contact for tenant inquiries regarding billing and security deposit status, providing elite customer service. The Ideal Blueprint Experience: 1–2 years of dedicated Accounts Receivable experience, with a specific "heavy-lifting" background in security deposit accounting. Systems Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Yardi Voyager (specifically the Deposit Accounting and SODA modules) is a hard requirement. Linguistic Skills: Bilingual in English/Spanish is required to effectively communicate with our diverse tenant base. Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with NYC rent stabilization and move-in/move-out accounting protocols. Local Focus: Must live within a manageable commute to the Forest Hills office.
