This position will set-up, operate and maintain the press and auxiliary equipment related to the press. The Press Operator will direct the activities of press crew with assigned tasks during down time and make-ready periods. Job Duties include, but are not limited to: Make-ready and operate press based upon written instructions provided. Establish and maintain color and/or fold and mechanical quality to BPC standards. Continuously monitor product for quality and approve or reject. Direct and coordinate activities of assigned crew members. Perform assigned make-ready duties. Complete required general maintenance and lubrication assignments. Complete required documentation, electronic and paper, for assigned job. Perform duties of other Print Service manufacturing positions as needed, following requisite training. Provide training for employees so the crew members can provide coverage for each other and/or prepare them for future positions. Follow all safety policies and regulations, report any potential hazards, near-misses, or accidents immediately. Perform other duties as assigned. The Seasonal Production forklift workers assist in meeting production goals and deadlines during times of increased volume. The position offers the opportunity to learn the printing process from the ground up, while working with the industry’s most advanced printing equipment in a clean, well-kept environment. Our Seasonal opportunity is estimated to run from now until 11/14/2026. Shifts and dates of assignments may be rotated and may vary by department. Openings include forklift/material handler. Hours are based on production needs; however, hours consist of 12-hour shifts, days, nights, weekends and holiday as needed. Overtime is required as needed. Loading and unloading of finished product and materials from semi-trailers and auto-wrapper using a forklift Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations. Effectively communicate with team members Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Qualifications The successful candidate will have or be able to do the following: Must be at least 18-years of age or older. Strong computer skills preferred. Prior forklift experience highly preferred, but not required. Factory, Manufacturing or other work experience where mechanical or handwork was necessary is preferred, such as laborer, machinist, assembly, bindery, mechanic, warehouse etc. Printing, Finishing (Bindery) or Warehouse experience is preferred. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to read, understand and follow both written and verbal instructions. Good math skills The ability to use repetitive hand/wrist movement. Ability to multi-task and prioritize job need. Quad in Pewaukee is seeking Skilled Finishing Machine Operators responsible for the set up and operation of finishing equipment (including inserters, folders, flat cutters, dabbers, and offline mailers). Quad relies on the Finishing Operator to help ensure that all finished products meet or exceed our customers’ expectations and to help in reducing the cost of errors through consistent work quality. In addition, the individual selected for this role will be expected to lead by example by holding employees accountable for Quad's safety initiatives. Responsibilities Also Include: •Setup and operate various bindery equipment which may include cutting, folding, scoring, stitching, and gluing equipment by Company policies and procedures. •Observe and monitor machine operations to determine whether adjustments are needed. Perform routine adjustments as well as perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned equipment during shift •Check order documentation, verify accuracy, and communicate order information and additional instructions to support staff to prepare for order production. •Establish the most efficient manner to run the products through assigned machine to produce the expected quality and quantity. Make ready for production by setting up machine components to create products in line with customer specifications. Qualifications Successful candidates must meet the following requirements: •Previous Finishing Operator experience with inserters or folders including the ability to set up and operate bindery equipment is required •A strong mechanical aptitude is required •The ability to bend and lift 10-15 pounds continuously, ability to lift to 70 pounds occasionally, stand for long hours, use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement •Receive and follow instructions and use vision to identify defects •Perform repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with or without a reasonable accommodation is necessary. •Excellent communication skills, including good verbal and written comprehension is required. •The ability to perform basic math calculations is essential.
