SUMMARY Open until filled- Under the supervision of the Dean of Student Development and Support Services, the Student Accountability and Support Officer will address, investigate, and adjudicate student conduct matters for all Gaston College campuses. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as the College’s student conduct officer and manages and implements the Gaston College Student Code of Conduct for students in both curriculum and economic and workforce development programs. Ensures that all Student Code of Conduct disciplinary procedures are followed. Schedules and coordinates meetings, interviews, appointments, and/or other similar activities with students; ensures students are aware of rights and responsibilities. Provides support and advocacy for students while emphasizing individual accountability and responsibility. Engages students in developmentally appropriate conversations and collaborates as needed with faculty, staff, Campus Police, and Human Resources to address and resolve student conduct matters. Develops and implements preventative efforts and educational sanctions designed to enhance student learning related to expected standards of behavior.
