Hospitalist Physician

TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a full-time, internal medicine trained nocturnist physician to join our stable and established hospital medicine program at Hendrick Medical Center South in Abilene, Texas. Hendrick Medical Center is a 231-bed hospital with an open 20-bed ICU. Enjoy a block schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off with a staffing model of a 3-day shift physicians, 1 day shift APC, and 1 nocturnist physician. Our daytime clinicians see an average census of 15-20 per day to include 1-2 admissions, while the APC will handle 4-6 admissions. During the nocturnist shift, you will see between 6-10 admissions on average. Hospitalists do run codes and handle rapid response, as they are the primary admitters for the ICU, so you will also round on patients here as needed. Procedures are highly preferred for this position. When it comes to specialty support, Hendrick Medical Center South has the support of GI, cardiology, neurology, spine surgery, general surgery, infectious disease, pulmonology, OB/GYN, sound care, and interventional radiology (will assist ED with procedures).
