Job Highlights Unit Details: The Neurology Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (NEMU) is a 28-bed acute care unit located in the new state-of-the-art UAB Rehabilitation Pavilion. This neuro unit provides comprehensive and specialized care for general neurology patients, as well as those with epilepsy. UAB Medicine is home to Alabama’s only Level IV Epilepsy Center, the highest designation available from the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. Nurses on this unit have a unique opportunity to work with a comprehensive range of advanced technology and the latest treatments, including continuous video electroencephalograph (EEG) monitoring. Video EEG captures and records brain activity to accurately detect and classify seizure events, which is critical for providing personalized, appropriate, and precise care for our patients. These nurses are active members of an interdisciplinary care team, working alongside neurologists, neurophysiology technologists, and other expert support staff.
