This includes oversight of patient care activities, revision of clinical policies and procedures, and collaborative responsibility for maintaining the quality of ECMO services. The ECMO Coordinator works closely with the multidisciplinary team across the continuum from the time a patient is placed on ECMO until discharge. This position also has accountability for coordination of activities including patient education, staff education, surgical coordination, and data collection. Verify procedure for appropriateness and preparation has been performed. Verifies that the patient has consented to the procedure and fully understands its risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up. When appropriate, verifies that a written or informed consent has been obtained. Provides patient information which includes LMP point of tenderness, symptoms, allergies, or other information pertinent to the exam being performed. Qualifications: Completion of an accredited program for Ultrasound Sonographers. RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer). CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
