Tooling Design Engineer

The Metal Stamping Design Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and validating tooling, dies, and stamped components used in high-volume manufacturing environments. This role supports product development, manufacturing engineering, tooling suppliers, and production teams to ensure robust designs, efficient manufacturability, and cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, model, and detail progressive, transfer, and line dies using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, NX). Provide technical guidance to toolmakers, machinists, and production operators as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3–10 years of experience in metal stamping, die design, or tooling engineering. Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T. Understanding of stamping processes including blanking, drawing, bending, forming, and restriking. Knowledge of tool steels, coatings, heat treatment, and die maintenance. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer standards.
