MEP Project Manager
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Project Manager to lead and oversee complex MEP construction projects from inception to completion. This role demands a proactive leader with extensive experience in managing MEP systems, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will excel in project coordination, construction management, and technical oversight, driving efficiency and excellence across all phases of project execution. Responsibilities Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of MEP construction projects using advanced project management software such as Primavera P6 and HeavyBid. Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, and internal teams to develop accurate construction estimates and budgets utilizing tools like Construction estimating software. Oversee the review and interpretation of schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure precise implementation of MEP systems aligned with project specifications. Manage procurement processes for materials and equipment through platforms like ProCore and Bluebeam, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project requirements. Supervise on-site activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and contractual obligations while maintaining a strong focus on project schedules. Utilize Civil 3D for site layout planning and schematic development to facilitate efficient construction workflows. Monitor progress through detailed project scheduling and site inspections, proactively addressing issues to mitigate delays or cost overruns. Foster effective communication among all stakeholders to ensure clarity on project scope, timelines, and deliverables while maintaining meticulous documentation for contracts and change orders. Qualifications Proven experience in managing large-scale MEP construction projects with a strong background in heavy civil or commercial building environments. Proficiency in construction management software including Primavera P6, Bluebeam, ProCore, HeavyBid, and other relevant tools. Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical specifications related to MEP systems. Strong understanding of contracts, project scheduling, project management principles, and construction site safety protocols. Hands-on experience with Civil 3D for site design or layout planning is highly desirable. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines. Effective communication skills for coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing client expectations. Requirements 10 years’ experience in construction field. 5 years’ experience in superintendent position. Ability to operate construction tools and equipment. Ability to work at heights higher than 30 feet. Ability to work independently and as part of the team. Any sum or combination of licenses or certifications in the competency of trade work including but not limited to: Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Rigging, Millwright, and Fabrication. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in engineering, architecture, or construction. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Expert knowledge and familiarity with construction industry standards and regulations. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. Knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost control, contracts, and project specifications. Knowledge of Project Management Software. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations. OSHA 30 minimum certification. Physical stamina and strength to perform heavy labor tasks. Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Working Environment Standard shifts are 8 (eight) hours; however, extended hours and weekend availability may be necessary depending on project demands. Regularly works on construction sites with exposure to moving equipment, heights, airborne particles, outdoor weather, and electrical hazards. Noise levels vary from moderate to high.
