Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred. 2 years of welding and pipefitting experience in industrial, manufacturing, or maintenance environments (chemical industry experience a plus). Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques as well as both butt weld and socket weld joints. Ability to follow conceptual drawings to pull required measurements and calculate all fitting take-outs and dimensions. Knowledge of pipefitting and metal fabrication practices. Familiarity with safety standards in industrial or chemical environments (OSHA, hot-work permits, LOTO, etc.). Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying plant conditions (heat, confined spaces, elevated platforms).
