Fabricate, modify, and repair tanks, piping, structural supports, platforms, and other plant components. Follow detailed drawings, weld procedures, and engineering specifications to complete work safely and accurately. Assist with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, and piping assemblies. Conduct inspections of welds, equipment, and fabricated components to ensure quality and compliance with safety and industry standards. Collaborate with the Engineering Manager on project planning, material needs, and scope of work. Safely operate cutting torches, grinders, saws, and other fabrication tools. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while adhering to all plant safety policies, including PPE requirements and chemical handling procedures. Participate in preventive maintenance activities and support small capital projects as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred. 2 years of welding and pipefitting experience in industrial, manufacturing, or maintenance environments (chemical industry experience a plus). Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques as well as both butt weld and socket weld joints. Ability to follow conceptual drawings to pull required measurements and calculate all fitting take-outs and dimensions. Knowledge of pipefitting and metal fabrication practices. Familiarity with safety standards in industrial or chemical environments (OSHA, hot-work permits, LOTO, etc.). Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying plant conditions (heat, confined spaces, elevated platforms).
