Position Summary: The Electronics Technician maintains and repairs the electrical functions and components of high-speed cigar and cigarette manufacturing and packing equipment in a safe and efficient manner and is responsible for machine condition and preventative maintenance. The hours for this role currently are M-Th 5:30am-4:00pm with preventative maintenance as needed on Fridays. Essential Function: Diagnose machine problems, respond to operator diagnosis and adjust/repair machine accordingly. Use tools such as wrenches, gauges, meters, etc. Perform preventative maintenance. Perform visual quality checks on machine. Perform parts repair/replacement of various electrical components. Occasionally lift/position materials up to 64 lbs. Use ladder. Perform procedures and work assignments in keeping with company policy, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice standards. Communicate effectively with peers and management. Communicate effectively with mechanics when performing work on production machinery. Use testing equipment provided by NASCO Products LLC in event of product defect. Perform other duties as assigned by Production Supervisor, Plant Engineer, and General Manager. These functions outlined are not intended to be a comprehensive list. Additional duties may be assigned at the accordance of the Supervisor, and other Company leadership members. Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age. Associate degree required. Bachelor’s Degree, or Certificate in related field preferred. 3 years’ experience working with high-speed manufacturing equipment required. Preferred tobacco manufacturing experience preferred. Basic knowledge of tools such as wrenches, gauges, meters, etc. Knowledge of various electrical components such as AC Drives, Electric Motors, PLCs, Photo-optic Sensors, etc. Basic mathematical skills Must be able to stand for 8-hour shift. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics preferred. Good understanding of electrical diagrams and blueprints Experience with various machining tools such as presses, saws, etc.
