The Civil Engineer will provide design and plan production for general civil design on a wide variety of projects which may include site layouts, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and associated civil engineering activities. Will perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures. Essential Functions Perform engineering calculations in support of civil engineering design projects. Manage projects including client communications, public input and feedback, and internal support. Perform AutoCAD Civil 3D design/drafting in support of civil engineering design projects. Performs, trains, and provides guidance for site investigations, survey work, CAD work, and data collection. Prepares and reviews engineering designs and reports which includes design calculations and plan preparation. Perform, provide training for, and guide quality assurance, ensuring projects get carried out as designed and recommend modifications as needed. Ability to identify engineering and surveying services needed by the client and ability to draft proposals and estimate fees. Coordinate with government agencies, client staff, and other professionals to obtain design information and approvals.
