Per Diem Intake Coordinator for Home Health
Join our compassionate team and help us prioritize health! This is a flexible per diem position offering up to 19 hours per week without a fixed schedule. Shift/Availability Requirements: Available to work up to 19 hours a week, Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm MST or PST. Willing to work weekend shifts based on business needs. Open to working 5 holidays a year. As an Intake Coordinator , you will report directly to the Intake Supervisor and play a crucial role in our team. Your responsibilities will include: Handling incoming calls from referral sources or potential patients, gathering information to assess patient needs and our ability to meet them. Documenting call outcomes, making follow-up calls, and identifying alternative community resources if needed. Conducting initial telephone screenings to evaluate the appropriateness of patients for home care services and ensuring a seamless transition to our care team. Updating referral sources on the status of their referrals and collaborating with the clinical team to deliver requested services. Identifying potential payer sources, verifying benefits, negotiating rates, and securing initial authorizations. Accessing relevant account information and communicating effectively with branch and intake department staff. Collaborating with the Intake team, branch staff, and patients to resolve payor source challenges. Monitoring satisfaction levels among referral sources and addressing customer service concerns appropriately. Utilize your skills to make a meaningful impact! Required Experience/Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent. A typing speed of at least 40 words per minute. 3 or more years in healthcare delivery or related business experience is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and a customer service focus is preferred. Understanding of insurance reimbursement processes is preferred. Data entry experience is preferred. Additional Information: To ensure efficiency for Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees, the following internet service criteria must be met: A minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wired cable or DSL connections are recommended. Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections are permissible only with leadership approval. Employees residing in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive bi-weekly internet expense reimbursements. Telephone equipment will be provided to meet business needs. Work from a dedicated, interruption-free space to ensure privacy of member PHI/HIPAA information. Travel may be required occasionally for training or meetings at Humana's offices. Scheduled Weekly Hours 1 Pay Range The salary range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
