Job Description Job ID: 5830 Practice Details Seeking a BE/BC Pathologist for a solo position with the potential for the current provider to work alongside new provider in transition period. Need to be Board Certified to take on Lab Director role. Good lab team and support, very congenial specialists Very light call after hours and on weekends – do not need to go back in Monday – Friday daytime hours (40 hours) onsite Cytopathology, including Non-GYN fluid cytologies and GYN Thin Prep Pap smears, secondary screener, no specialty except that we do Thin Prep specifically From 50 to 140 slides daily, depending on the previous day’s surgeries, with the average being about 15-20 cases and 50-75 slides. About 10-15 paps per week read initially by a cytotechnologist, then overscreened and signed out by Pathologist Large number of biopsies. Many cases have four or more biopsies each. We have a lot of breast cases, including Needle biopsies, mastectomies and lumpectomies. Also, the cases include: Several colons per week. Placentas. Hysterectomies, a couple a week. Usual gallbladders, appendix, hernias, femoral heads and other orthopedic cases. Sleeve gastrectomies, endometrial and endocervical biopsies, abscesses. We do get skin lesions regularly and other random specimens. 2 Histotechnologist do the gross They are both HTL (ASCP) with BS in Biology and Chemistry. A typical day is more than 50% biopsies and 2 to 3 larger cases (breast, colon, uterus), with gallbladders and other smaller specimens etc. Bone marrows are all sent by the Clinical Lab directly to a reference Lab. Any lymph nodes questions are sent for consult to Emory or GenPath. We integrate the consult report into our surgical report. IHC’s are sent to GenPath. Recruiter's Insight Compensation.
