Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits. Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding. Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment. Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits. Examine workpieces for defects, and measure workpieces with templates to ensure conformance with specifications and application of ACF Side Sill Modifications when necessary. Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material. Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications, or types and thicknesses of metals. Fill holes and increase the size of metal parts. Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers. Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools. Mark and/or tag material with proper car numbers, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required. Position and secure workpieces, using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines or hand tools. Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Preheat workpieces prior to welding or bending, using torches or heating heads. Hammer out bulges or bends in metal workpieces. Guide and direct flames or electrodes on or across workpieces to straighten, bend, melt, or build up metal. Check grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments. Set up and use ladders and scaffolding as necessary to complete work. Conduct on-site assessments and measurements to determine project requirements and ensure accurate installations. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate installation activities and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during projects. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards throughout the installation process. Maintain accurate documentation of project details, including installation reports, equipment specifications, and inventory records. Be able to travel outside of our main territory, including but not limited to overnights stays for certain projects. Qualifications Verifiable experience (2 years) in commercial kitchen equipment installation, including firsthand experience with various refrigeration systems, such as walk-in coolers, freezers, refrigerated display cases, ovens, fryers, and HVAC systems. Strong knowledge of refrigeration principles, systems components, and installation techniques. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and allocate resources efficiently. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Commitment to safe practices and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for the team and adhering to regulatory requirements. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with team members, clients, and stakeholders. HVAC/R certification, CFESA, or relevant trade qualifications preferred. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
