Internal Investigator 2 (Criminal)

Minimum Qualifications: Twelve (12) years of law enforcement investigative experience. AND Current NYS basic course for police officer certification and New York State residency at the time of appointment. AND Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s License Substitutions: An associate’s degree may be substituted for two years of law enforcement investigative experience; OR A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for four years of law enforcement experience *Law enforcement investigative experience must include independent investigative experience interviewing and interrogating witnesses and suspects in criminal investigations; collecting and analyzing data and evidence; writing, summarizing, and documenting case narratives, reports and interviews; and offering testimony at criminal proceedings, grand jury suppression hearings, and criminal trials specific to the roles and responsibilities of a criminal investigator in a police department or sheriff’s office.
