ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Conduct psychiatric evaluations (psychosocial history, psychiatric symptoms, medical history, medication history, diagnosis) to assess and create a plan to treat a wide range of difficulties presented by children and adolescents. Conduct patient appointments for established clients on a regular basis. Foster therapeutic connections with your clients as well as communicate and build relationships with their caregivers. Prescribe psychotropic medication, as needed. Provide medication management, follow-up, and psychiatric education regarding medication and possible side effects. Work closely as part of the treatment team with the therapist, case manager, and others, both inside and outside of the agency, including families and collaterals. Understand and comply with Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA regulations, LACDMH policies and documentation guidelines, and other state & federal regulations related to quality assurance.
