The Med-Surg unit also manages chronic conditions such as diabetes, COPD, and chronic kidney disease. Service lines include oncology, nephrology, urology, gastroenterology, and many more. Given the generalized nature of the Med-Surg unit and the amount of variation in patient conditions, the acuity of patients vary.
