Maintenance Mechanic
Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Location: Rochester, NY Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire Summary: Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join an industrial manufacturing team in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of mechanical systems and process equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment supporting production needs. Pay Rate: $25.00 – $33.00/Hour (Based On Exp.) Shift: Monday – Friday | 8-Hour Day Shift (40 hours/week) Overtime available as needed Key Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including pumps, filters, steam systems, HVAC, motors, drives, conveyors, tanks, piping, valves, and burners Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to diagnose equipment and process issues Perform fabrication work including frames, brackets, pipe supports, and bases Utilize rigging equipment such as hoists, chains, straps, and forklifts to safely move materials and equipment Diagnose and repair components such as valves, actuators, bearings, belts, gears, and seals Perform preventative maintenance and support production uptime Operate and assist with shop equipment including pipe threading machines, grinders, drill press, lathe, and mill Maintain compliance with all safety procedures including lockout/tagout and confined space protocols Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Qualifications: Formal training preferred (mechanic, machinist, apprenticeship, or military equivalent) or 5 years of industrial mechanical, machinist, or pipefitting experience Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical systems Experience with fabrication and shop tools Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work overtime as needed Work Environment & Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 30–50 lbs regularly Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling Ability to work at heights, on ladders, or in confined spaces Use of PPE including respirators as required Indoor and outdoor work environments Benefits: Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision Paid lunch Overtime opportunities 401(k) with company match Paid time off and vacation Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
